Rainbow Medicine has updated its administrative processes to accept National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants whose plans are plan-managed or self-managed. The change makes services accessible to a wider range of patients funded under the scheme.
Eligible service codes include capacity-building supports such as Improved Daily Living and Improved Health and Wellbeing. NDIA-managed clients are not currently accepted because Rainbow Medicine is not an NDIS-registered provider for the services in question — the practice is investigating registration for the second half of the year.
"This is a logistical change rather than a clinical change," said Dr Christine Shen. "The treatment is exactly the same as it has always been. What's different is that more participants can now use their NDIS funding to access it without funding gymnastics."
To book under NDIS arrangements, participants or their plan managers should contact reception first to confirm eligibility, service codes and pricing. Rainbow Medicine keeps fees in line with relevant NDIS price guides where applicable and provides itemised invoices that plan managers can process directly.
Participants are encouraged to bring their plan documents or a copy of their current schedule of supports to the first appointment. Reception staff at 0410 699 065 can walk through the booking and invoicing flow before the first session if helpful.
