Rainbow Medicine has launched a mobile service for patients unable to attend the Lane Cove clinic in person. The new offering covers postcodes within a 10 km radius and is available by booking for selected services. Initial demand has been strongest among elderly patients, new mothers and patients recovering from surgery.
The mobile model has been a year in development. Practitioners attending mobile appointments carry portable, hospital-grade equipment and follow the same infection-control and documentation standards as in-clinic care. All visits are bookable in advance, with same-day visits available subject to practitioner availability.
"Mobile care is not a discount product — it is the same clinical work, delivered in your home," said Dr Christine Shen. "For some patients, particularly those who are recently discharged from hospital or who care for someone full-time, in-clinic visits simply aren't possible. We did not want those patients to fall through the gap."
Mobile sessions carry a small travel surcharge and a slightly longer time block to allow for setup and packing-down. Private-health rebates apply where the practitioner is eligible. NDIS plan-managed and self-managed clients are also accepted for relevant service codes — speak with reception about pre-approval.
To book a mobile appointment, call 0410 699 065 or use the online form at /en/book and select 'mobile' as the location. Rainbow Medicine expects to extend the radius and expand the service hours over the coming months as demand grows.
